The United States Copyright Law (Title 17, US Code) governs the copying of copyright protected materials. Patrons using public machines are liable for any infringement. The IT Services Desk strictly adheres to copyright law and license agreements. It will not reproduce copyrighted materials unless (1) the intended reproduction qualifies as fair use or other legal exception, (2) the work is available for reproduction under a license agreement, or (3) permission to reproduce the work has been obtained in writing by the requester from the copyright holder.

Please note that we will not reporduce the following on our COLOR copier:

  • Paper Money.
  • Traveler's Cheques
  • Money Orders
  • Food Stamps
  • Certificates of Deposit
  • Passports
  • Postages Stamps (cancelled or unused)
  • Immigration Papers
  • Identification Badges or Insignias
  • Internal Revenue Service Stamps (cancelled or uncancelled)
  • Selective Service Papers / Draft Papers
  • Bonds or other certificates of indebtidness
  • Checks or drafts drawn by a government agency
  • Stock Certificates
  • Motor Vehicle Licenses and Certificates of Title
