System Requirements and Off-Campus Access

Use of these resources is limited to the UConn community.

American Song, African American Music, Classical Music Library, Contemporary World Music, and Smithsonian Global Sound all work on Macs and PCs with a browser and require no special software, though you may be prompted to download the Windows Media Player Extension or run an Active X control. (This is a relatively simple process.)”

Off-campus users may use either VPN (log into VPN now) or proxy accounts (configure your proxy account now).

Naxos Music Library requires Windows Media Player (PCs or Macs) or Flip4Mac (Macintosh; download Flip4Mac), and works better for off campus users who use proxy accounts (configure your proxy account now). Here are more technical details about Naxos.

Useful Information

Naxos Instructors' Guide: Playlists & Links (PDF) -- Instructions for instructors who want to create "play lists" for their students or provide links from other Web pages or documents to specific CDs or tracks.
