Reserves
The Music & Dramatic Arts (M&DA) Library maintains a
course reserve service for Music and Dramatic Arts courses, as well as
courses using Music & Dramatic Arts Library materials.
Information for Students
How to Find & Use Reserve
Materials:
- Students should present the reserve item's call number, plus a
valid University ID, at the Music/Drama Library circulation
desk.
- Call numbers may be found in a reserve notebook at the circulation
desk (arranged by instructor) or by searching in HOMER (search
by instructor under "Reserves," or search for
individual items). Occasionally, a course syllabus or
instructor's reading/listening list includes call numbers.
- Items circulate
for three hours and must be used in the library during
regular Music/Drama Library hours;
here is more information about listening/viewing
facilities. Some items circulate overnight;
these procedures can be explained by the desk attendant.
Digital Audio Reserves and Electronic
Course Reserves on Husky CT :
- Students
officially enrolled in participating courses may access
their course listenings online via their instructors' course pages
on HuskyCT (formerly
Vista/WebCT). Also,
some course readings may be available there in PDF as "electronic
course reserves (ECR)."
- For information about getting
started on HuskyCT, go to the UConn
Libraries Reserve Homepage.
Information for Instructors
Putting Print and A/V Materials on Reserve:
- Print and A/V materials to be
used in the course are put on reserve at the instructor's
request.
- Instructors should consult the brief
reserve policy (PDF). It outlines reserve procedures.
- Here is a reserve
request form (PDF) for printing.
- A full reserve
policy for faculty is available upon request
in the library.
- Questions? Contact the Music/Drama Library's access
services supervisor.
Electronic Course Reserve (PDFs):
Selected print materials
such as articles, chapters, quizzes, and notes can be made
available to students in PDF format via HuskyCT for
24/7 access. Students must be enrolled in participating courses.
To request this service, see Electronic
Course Reserve (ECR): Information for Instructors. (You
will work with Babbidge Library reserve staff.)
Digital Audio Reserve (DAR): see
Digital Audio Reserve: Information
for Instructors.
