Liaison Areas:Stephen is responsible for selecting books, journals and electronic resources; providing in-depth research assistance and library instruction; and acting as the advocate within the Library for the following areas, including the various interdisciplinary programs and research institutes: Services:Contact Stephen to request any of these services, or for help with any other library-related question or concerns. Library Instruction - request general orientation, course-related instruction, and focused research training. Group and individual training sessions are available by appointment. For group sessions, please contact the liaison at least 2 weeks in advance. Research Assistance - request help in selecting appropriate resources, performing database searches, or locating relevant materials at other institutions. Citation Assistance - request help in verifying citations for publications, bibliographies, or Interlibrary Loan orders. New Materials Requests - suggest titles to be added to the Libraries' collection. Background:Stephen Fairfield got his Bachelor's in Astronomy in 1993 from the University of Massachusetts and went on to do 2 years of graduate work at the University of Wyoming, co-authoring 2 publications. He got his Master's in Library Science in 1998 from Texas Women's University. Prior to coming to UConn, he worked at AT&T Laboratories.
